Berita Bumi web site (http://www.beritabumi.or.id) is designed to be an environmental clearing house portal for data and information sharing among institutions and individuals working with environment, natural resources and its relation to development. This website is currently managed by Konphalindo (National Consortium for Forest and Nature Conservation in Indonesia), a non-governmental organization based in Jakarta.
Konphalindo was established in 1991 primarily working with the processing and transformation of environmental information. Konphalindo disseminates information through websites, internet, emails and printed materials in the forms of books, leaflets and bulletins. Konphalindo is currently working in the field of biotechnology, biodiversity, forestry, and organic farming. Therefore most of the information provided on this website is still predominantly focused on those four issues. However, this website is opened to all institutions and individuals who would like to contribute information in the form of news, opinions, data, information, publications, events, jobs, scholarships, grants or trainings in the field of environment and development.
Konphalindo maintains Berita Bumi to enhance public access to information on environmental issues and other subject related to environmental and development issues. Konphalindo’s goal is to keep this information timely and accurately available. If errors are brought to our attention, we will try to correct them.
